NEET UG 2020 Counselling procedure PART I

NEET 2020 exam took place on 13th September 2020.  Most likely Medical Council Committee (MCC) will released the NEET 2020 Counselling Procedure by the last week of October. The NEET 2020 counselling will be conducted online. Those who cleared the NEET-UG 2020 exam as per the cut-off specified by NTA are eligible to participate in the counselling process. NTA does not conduct the NEET UG counselling and it is the responsibility of the MCC to conduct the NEET UG 2020 counselling.

Counselling for the All Indian Quota seats will be conducted in two rounds. Seats left vacant after the second round of NEET counselling 2020 will be transferred to the respective state quota. The seats left vacant in the AIQ quota of Deemed Universities/ Central Universities/ ECIC colleges will be filled in the mop-up round of NEET 2020 counselling. Remaining seats (if any) will be filled in the institutional round/ stray round of NEET counselling.

The counselling of NEET 2020 is conducted by the Directorate General of Health Sciences (DGHS) on behalf of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) on It will be done on the basis of the All India Ranks (AIR) obtained by the registered candidates in NEET 2020.

NEET RESULT 2020 will be announced – 12 oct 2020 (expected) check on EXPECTED RESULT DATE- NEET 2020 (mid-October)


The candidates who qualify NEET 2020 and want to participate in the counselling process for the AIO seats/ Deemed University/ Central University/ ECIC colleges, have to register online on the official website of MCC. the process of NEET 2020 counselling has been explained in detail below.


  • Candidates need to register on the official website of MCC –
  • Candidates need to fill in details such as their name, registration number, personal details, academic details and the details on their NEET result
  • They will also have to pay a registration fee for completing the NEET counselling 2020 application process.

1. 15% AIQ/Central Universities –

  • General- Rs.1000
  • SC/ST/OBC/PWD- Rs.500

2. Deemed Universities –

  • All Categories- RS.5,000


Refundable Fee

1. 15% AIQ/Central Universities –

  • General- Rs.10,000
  • SC/ST/OBC/PWD- Rs.5,000

2. Deemed Universities –

  • All Categories- Rs.2,00,000

Choice filling

  • After completing the registration process, the candidate needs to fill in the choices by logging into the registered account on the MCC portal
  • He/ she needs to choose the course/ college in the desired order of preference
  • He/ she can fill in any number of choices from the list provided
  • Candidate can add/ delete a choice
  • He/ she can also move up/ move down a choice as per his/ her preference
  • After filling in the choices, he/ she must save a copy of the choices filled for future reference

Seat allotment list

  • Based on the AIR obtained in NEET 2020 and the choices filled in the registration form, a seat allocation list will be prepared
  • The seat allocation list will be uploaded online on the official website of MCC.

Reporting to the college allotted

The candidate who has been allocated a seat in counselling of NEET 2020 will have to report to the allocated institute for verification of documents and confirmation of the seat. If a candidate accepts the seat that has been allocated to him/ her but fails to report to the allocated institute in the given time-frame, his/ her candidature will be cancelled.

What are the documents required for NEET counselling 2020?

Candidates reporting to the allocated institute for confirmation of the allocated seat must carry the following documents with them.

  1. NEET admit card 2020
  2. NEET result 2020 or rank letter
  3. Class X marksheet and certificate
  4. Class XII marksheet and certificate
  5. Valid, non-expired and government issued photo ID proof
  6. 6 – 8 passport-sized photographs (preferably same as the one submitted with the NEET 2020 application form)
  7. Caste Certificate (if applicable)
  8. Disability Certificate (if applicable)
  9. Provisional allotment letter

*Candidates must carry both original and photocopies of the above documents.
